Roadtrip to awesome Pondicherry: day 3

Day 3:

Day 3 started with a half tea and our usual cloud computing sessions. Before hitting the road for Bangalore we decided to wander around beach, have breakfast at Le Cafe and do a bit of shopping. By the time we checked out from our lodge it was around 9, we hurried to Le Cafe.

Le Cafe, there it was standing against the sea with its strength, calm, overlooking at Bay of Bengal. Perfect for us to spend some more time, we four the beach lovers what else do we need. Enter the Cafe, loved the way they had managed the hotel. Le Cafe has maintained its Portugese architecture cues.

Calmness… Bay Of Bengal.

We settled down overlooking the Bay of Bengal, trust me, the view was terrific. Went through the menu, there were many items to try out. But to avoid any tummy issues during the roadtrip we went for Idli Vada and some tea.

Before leaving for Bangalore, we decided to have a final stroll at the Pondi beach boulevard as we don’t know when we will back here next time. Walked along the beach, we realized we were glad as we made the trip by leaving the daily chores of life.

Look at the snaps, you will know how awesome the beach boulevard it was.

It was around 11/12 finally we decided to leave for Bangalore, had our stand up meeting, applied our estimation and managerial skills on how to take on the route and reach Bangalore without any trouble.

With the song “We are the Champions” in our heads, we were cruising on NH66. It is terrific to be on road, the world passes by like a movie in a fast forward mode. The excitement to be at home (Bangalore) made us to cover up as much as distance even with pain, we took few breaks. Continue reading ‘Roadtrip to awesome Pondicherry: day 3′

Roadtrip to Awesome Pondicherry: Day 2

(Sorry for the delay in posting with the next post as I was held up with many stuff at my end, but yes I am finishing what I started.)

Day 2:

We had planned to get up early on the day 2, so that we can explore Pondicherry as much as possible. Well the time we got out of lodge it was 10 am. Then an hour for breakfast, to avoid any risk with our tummy we din’t try any new or local food. Instead we went for the industry standard idli, off course the coconut chutney was amazing. Made our stand up meeting, err sit down meeting to plan up what all to do, as we got a whole day. We decided to go to Auroville first, later get beached. Yay !!!

After some half tea, we got on the famous ECR (East Coast Road, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Coast_Road ) which runs parallely to the Bay of Bengal. With our Sun Glasses on, we hit the road (Off course, we were in flashback for Udupi and NH 17).

We reached Auroville, the universal town. Yes, kinda our universal app, its the universal town where people from around the world live in harmony. You can check with the Auroville wiki link for more http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auroville

Okay, Auroville was build with set of 4 ground rules, (got this from Wiki Link)
1. Auroville belongs to nobody in particular. Auroville belongs to humanity as a whole. But to live in Auroville, one must be the willing servitor of the Divine Consciousness.
2. Auroville will be the place of an unending education, of constant progress, and a youth that never ages.
3. Auroville wants to be the bridge between the past and the future. Taking advantage of all discoveries from without and from within, Auroville will boldly spring towards future realisations.
4. Auroville will be a site of material and spiritual researches for a living embodiment of an actual Human Unity.

Strolled Auroville a bit, there were couple of boutiques, an awesome restaurant and few shops for handicrafts and other things. In one of the boutiques, there were amazing handicrafts on display, unique designs, boys bought some designer candles. After that, we just wandered around to explore the much heard place. Later we figured out that we ran out of time for the visit to Matru Mandir as it was Sunday. The timings to visit Matru Mandir was until 12.30 pm during Sundays.

We were disappointed for not making to Matru mandir, anyways we got enough time to explore the Pondicherry. Got cheered up after stopping for a quick smoke and tea, started again on the ECR. We entered Pondi in own style, explored town centre, later ended up at the beach. Figured out, the Pondi is built in terms of blocks and every road leads to the beach, great thought !!!. The town has a decent infrastructure, but you gotta see the style of building architectures, pretty awesome. Most of them had french ques, off course it was ruled by french before Indian Independence. Continue reading ‘Roadtrip to Awesome Pondicherry: Day 2′

RoadTrip to Pondicherry: Day 1:

I was riding on way to Electronics City on my Uni, a regular day for office..?? I knew the day was something special, I felt something amazing from inside, saw in the mirror, Guru was riding along with  Naveen as his pillion and I figured out Abhay was my pillion.

Then I realized, we were on a “ROADTRIP to Pondicherry…

We were planning for a RoadTrip since long time, but due to some or the other reasons it din’t happened. But finally got time as we got a weekend and a holiday for Karnataka Rajotsova and hence we zeroed our destination to Pondicherry. As from many years I was hearing bout Pondicherry from a good friend of mine.

So it was Pondicherry. Finally Abhay, Guru and Naveen agreed for the roadtrip, we planned to meet up at my room as it is nearer to Electronics City at 7 am and leave early. Guess what, by the time we left our room it was around 11.45 am and by the time we hit the HOSUR road it was 12 pm.

Ready to hit ROAD…

We were on ROAD, with loaded petrol tanks but what bout loading our tummies..?? We did a decent a 50 KM in a hour and made to a hotel for breakfast. Actually it was a brunch not a breakfast, nor a lunch. We ate whatever was available, pongal, dosa and off course awesome TEA. Came out and saw clouds were waiting for us, but we were determined to reach PONDI any cost. We dint even rode for few mins it started to rain heavily, what else do you think during rain ? We pulled over to a nearest place and started our cloud computing/smoke break.

Rain stopped, we decided to cover as much distance possible till it rains for the next time. We started the engines, yes the rain started again and again God Damn Cloud Computing. Finally after couple of minutes it stopped, we felt it rained for hours . This time we can see sun grinning for us. Continue reading ‘Roadtrip to Awesome Pondicherry: Day 1′

Waiting for Bus's turn…

Waiting for Bus's turn…

Here I am, on the road again;
waiting for my bus’s turn,
in the bus, here I go,
listening to my fav songs on PSP,
there I go, with a huge smile on my face,
to open up another chapter in my life.

I dont wanna say my time will come,
but I wanna say, it has come,
I thought its over when it happened,
but later I realized,
it is the beginning, beginnng for the change,
beginning for everything,
So here I am, on the road again…

Road Trip To Gadag.

Guys, big GRIN on my face while writing this post. This post is bout the road trip  from Udupi to Gadag on my Unicorn. I and Shaanib went for the road trip. Shaanib is my senior in office,  he is a nice chap. He rides bike like hell, I get goose bumps whenever I sit behind him.

The trip was done on April 30. The route we took was like this, Udupi – Kundapur – Marvanthe – Bhatkal – Honnavar – Jog Falls (Yes, Jog falls) – Sirsi – Mundgod – Hubli – Gadag.

I am just writing the events, which happened in the series.

April 30:

I got up at 5.30 (Slept at around 2, after some office stint), did namaz. Had freaking cold bath, and took all the required documents and went to Shaanib’s place. Even he was ready, looked at time, it was already 6.40.

Went to Hotel Khushi (its near office), had tea and started the trip, reset the trip meter.

And here we Go..!!!

Project RoadTrip to Gadag:

Number of Resources: 2.

Name of the Resources: Shaanib M I (nick name “Damn Rossi”) & Mohsin (It’s “Me”).

Devices: Honda Unicorn.

Effort Estimated: 8 hours.

Project Duration: 1 day.

I rode 1st, started the bike. Felt something different, as we started to move. Fully charged up, in no time we crossed Santhekatte, and I saw the open road. Dude, it’s NH 17. It’s my one of the favorite road. As we left in the morning there was less traffic, and throughout the road there is lot of greenery. And we encountered loads of bridges. Uni was just cruising in-terms of 80. Believe me, you get nice feeling when you are around 60 – 80 in my bike. Uni is damn stable, cruises like hell. (Vin, I know R1, I agree… But I had Uni for this road trip).

Rode for a few min, saw bike trip odo it was already saying some 25. We looked at the sky, clouds started to gather on NH. I was worried bout what next. Thought if it rains we will stop at Kundapur. I just prayed not to rain. In no time we crossed Kundapur, once we crossed Kundapur clouds started to disappear and we saw the sunshine. God answered ma prayers :-) . Reached Kamat Upachar near Marvanthe, had breakfast. I think Shaanib loved it.

Marvanthe Beach: This beach is beside NH 17, which stretches along the highway for 2 kms or something. So these are the snaps.
